Salem-Keizer Schools staff furlough days in 2012-13

To help balance the $20 million budget shortfall, all school district staff will take seven furlough days in the 2012-13 school year. The furlough days, or days when employees are placed on temporary unpaid leave, are part of $8 million in concessions by employee groups. All employee groups – classified, licensed, administrators and confidential employees – will take the same furlough days next school year.

Schools and district offices will be closed on furlough days. Parents are advised to consider furlough days when planning for child care and other schedule needs.
