Bus Riders

If you intend for your student to ride the bus, you MUST register for transportation services through Parent Vue. To be eligible for transportation services, students must reside 1.5 miles away from their resident school. Registering for transportation services helps transportation department establish bus routes to keep your student safe.

1. Check eligibility for bus transportation

Transportation-eligible means that the student lives at a residence within their neighborhood school attendance boundary, and the residence is outside the State of Oregon defined walk zone for that school. The walk zones are 1.0 mile for elementary students and 1.5 miles for middle and high school students.

You can check eligibility for bus transportation on the Busfinder webpage.

If you are eligible, you will see the link appear for “PARENTVUE” to complete the bus rider registration process. If you do not qualify for bus transportation based on your child’s school and residence address, you will not see this link appear.

*Please note: when you follow the link to complete the registration process, you will be taken to the online registration process. The selection for bus transportation toward the end of the online registration process. (See step 2).

2. Complete bus rider registration

Prior to riding the bus, your child will need to be registered for bus transportation. Registration can be completed by checking the box “Bus Rider Registration” during the online registration or enrollment verification process through ParentVUE. This option will appear on the “Students” step is near the end of the registration process. (See below).

Bus Rider Registration in ParentVUE

If you need assistance with completing online registration, if you missed this step during online registration, or need to confirm if your registration is complete, please contact your child’s school who can assist you in verifying your bus rider registration.

*Please note that although the option to select bus rider registration will be available to all families through the registration process, only families who are eligible for bus transportation (step 1) will be provided transportation.

3. Check your child’s bus transportation information for bus route, stop and times

In late August after route information for the 2022-23 school year has been finalized by the district, after you have completed rider registration, the information about bus routes, stops and times will be available for your student in ParentVUE.

To find this information, navigate to the “Student Information” tab on the ParentVUE app then select “additional information.”
