WMS Food Drive and Stuff the Bus

Whiteaker Middle School Leadership Class will be holding their annual food drives at Whiteaker Middle School as well as our “Stuff the Bus” event.  Both of these food drives are in partnership with Dayspring Fellowship to help 200 Salem-Keizer Families to have a Thanksgiving meal.  Whiteaker Middle School’s Food Drive will run from November 1 to November 18, 2022, during school hours.  We are asking students to donate non-perishable foods to their sixth period classes.  We are in greatest need of canned corn, canned bean, stuffing mix, gravy mix, cranberry sauce, and other non-perishable foods.  The two sixth period classes that donate the largest quantity of food per average student will win a donut party for their classes.  However, the Leadership students for the ninth year will be taking this a step further by “Stuffing the Bus.” They will be trying to stuff an entire Salem-Keizer School Bus full of food on Saturday November 19, 2022, from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Safeway Parking Lot on River Road.  Please consider donating to help a Salem-Keizer Family have a wonderful holiday meal.  For more information please contact: sweeney_amber@salkeiz.k12.or.us.

6, 7 and 8th Grade Wrestling Is Open for Enrollment

 

All current 6, 7 and 8th grade Whiteaker students are welcome to enroll in the 2022 Wrestling season.  Head coach Kacey McCallister and assistant coach Amy Lietz are excited to start the season with you on January 3, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the upper gym.  Enroll now on Family ID.  There are no fees to participate this year!  All students in 7th and 8th grade must have a current physical on file in order to participate on the first day.  If you have any further questions after registering on Family ID, please contact the front office at 503-399-3224.

Food Drive

Help Dayspring provide 200 Salem-Keizer Families a Thanksgiving meal with this food drive and Stuff the Bus!!  We are looking for non-perishable food (no potatoes or baking flour).   Thanksgiving Boxes:  Stuffing, Canned Corn ,Canned Green Beans ,Gravy Mix (canned is okay too), and Canned Cranberry Sauce. Dayspring will donate donuts to the 2 classes that brings in the greatest weight of food! This is a great way to give back to the community. Spread the word and as always, we appreciate your continued support! We love our Whiteaker families!
